The Career Service staff at MicroTrain is here to help you reach your goals.

MicroTrain Technologies' Career Services staff offers career counseling, which includes career tests, career planning sessions, and one-on-one career counseling with advice and ideas for your specific skill set. MicroTrain also offers resume review services as well.

You'll also be able to take advantage of interview preparation sessions. Dispel your nerves and fears by working with a MicroTrain career counselor to hone your interviewing skills, focus your message, and present yourself in the best light possible. The career counselors will work with you to target your career search and go after the best interview opportunities for your area of expertise.

For those students completing a certification program, MicroTrain also offers a referral program, built from the many relationships that they have developed with local and even national companies. These companies know the level of skill that comes from MicroTrain Technologies' graduates and this foot in the door often helps students to stand out above other candidates.

Resume Review

First impressions are very important. We will make sure we review the essentials of your resume and evaluate the punctuation, spelling, formatting and style including capitalization, content, message and flow. This generally entails a discussion of your career goals and qualifications and how these are represented in the document. We will indicate and recommend to you which area may need improvement to ensure that your resume stands out to potential employers.

Interview Techniques Preparation / Mock Interviews

Now that your resume is complete, your next step is to make sure you perform exceptionally well on your interview. We will meet with you to discuss any specific concerns or questions you may have about interviewing. We will also provide practice interviews that simulate the real interview, followed by a critique.

Job Placement Assistance & Referral Program

MicroTrain Technologies Career Service department develops and sustains relationships with local and national employers to keep abreast of employment opportunities and promote the recognition of MicroTrain Technologies and its students. Upon registration, you are immediately added to the active email group to receive job leads open to direct submission of resumes.

To become eligible for job placement assistance and referral program, you first must create a resume and cover letter, complete your training program, have obtained an industry certification and concluded the career development process (consultation, resume review and interview preparation). After you have completed the necessary steps, we will notify you of all employment opportunities and refer you to a wide range of employers based on your qualifications.
